NEWBORN PORTRAIT TIPS AND INFORMATION

When it comes to timing your session, here are some tips to help you choose what works best:

First two weeks: Babies are often deeply asleep and flexible, making it easier to gently pose them in those classic newborn poses.

5–10 days old: Many photographers call this the "sweet spot" — babies are still sleepy and naturally curled up.

3–4 weeks old: Ideal for more awake shots or if you need extra time for recovery. Babies are more alert and may even start smiling.

5–8 weeks old: Babies are more responsive and alert, often giving you a peek at their first smiles.

Factors to consider when scheduling:

Your baby's personality: Some babies are more alert than others at different ages, so take your little one’s temperament into account.

Your schedule and recovery: Make sure the timing works for your own healing and family logistics.

Premature babies: Adjust timing based on your baby's development and needs.

Baby’s health: Consult your doctor or pediatrician if your newborn has any health concerns.
